The full form of NRTS is Nurses Registration and Tracking System. It is a web based application designed for Indian Nursing Council, New Delhi to enable creation of live register of the nurses across the country. The ‘Indian Nurses Register’ means the register of Nurses, Midwives, Auxiliary Nurses Midwives and Health Visitors registered in respective SNRCs. You will get NUID number upon your registration into NRTS. NUID status can be checked online.
NRTS is maintained by INC (Indian Nurses Council). Therefore the candidate may access the registration or do relevant activities in their website. You may click here to access the same. INC issue NUID for registered candidates.
Indian Nursing Council (Nurses Registration & Tracking System) Regulations, 2019 maintains that INC is authorized to create and maintain a Nurses a register of Nursing personnel in every category. This includes RN (Registered Nurse), RM (Registered Midwife), RANM (Registered Auxiliary Nurse and Midwife) and RLHV (Registered Lady Health Visitor). That is, NRTS registration is strongly recommended. However, there is no penalty or fine imposed for not doing so.
The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has made suitable arrangements for candidates to register themselves in the NRTS via online mode. The NRTS registration is free. It is done via Aadhar card based biometric authentication. On registration the concerned person gets a unique ID number, which is also called NUID. The ID will be given to the candidate in the form of a card, which is also called NUID Card. The candidates have to complete 150 hours of CNE (Continuing Nursing Education) to renew their ID cards as it is happening with State Nursing Council registration. If you are a candidate who is applying for the first time in NRTS, you will get 30 hours of free credits of CNE requirements.

Both online and offline methods are valid. However, for the online method, you may submit your details and documents at the comfort of your home. You just need to visit the agency or Nursing Council for biometric authentication. For the offline method everything has to be done before a council official.
